Welcome to Year 8 History
From the Ancient to the Modern world.
This course is a study of history from the end of the Ancient period to the the beginning of the Modern period ( c 650 AD - 1750 )
There is one Overview and three Depth Studies and you will cover the following major civilisations:
We will also be able to choose from a number of optional sub topics such as youth culture, media and cultural diversity.

Year 10 Modern Greek
This course develops language and cultural skills, extending the learning students have learnt during their formative years.
This Year 10 Italian course is for students who have completed their studies of Italian in Year 8 and 9.
This semester long course allows Year 10 students to gain an understanding of the SA Tourism Industry and practice their Italian, whilst gaining 30 SACE credits. From 2011 students will be able to earn 20 SACE units.
This course is designed for students not wishing to study extended classes of maths at year 10.

Students have to complete three skills test , an investigatin, a project and an exam at the end of semester 1

This Year 8 Mathematics course is designed to give students the basic skills needed to progress successfully to higher levels.

This is a full year subject. Students used the Mathematics for Year 9 Haese and Haese Text book second edition, mathsonline and other interactive activites from the net.
Year 8 Maths
Year 8 Maths is studied over two semesters with a common test at the end of each.
Homework will be set on Tuesday and Thursday and you are required to spend approximately 30 minute on this work.
Worksheets from www.mathsonline.com.au will also supplement student learning.
Students are provided with a range of assessment tasks involving tests, hands on interactive activies using ICT, investigations and projects.
The tests involve graded problems that should provide success for the majority of students but also a challenge to those of high academic potential.
Different tests are given to the hearing impaired students
Year 8 Maths
Year 8 Maths is studied over two semesters with a common test at the end of each.
Homework will be set on Monday and Wednesday and you are required to spend approximately 20 minute on this work.
A “maths mate” worksheet will also be completed on a weekly basis for homework.
Worksheets from www.mathsonline.com.au will also supplement your learning.
This is a one unit course and the topics included are Earning and Spending and Statistics. In Semester 2, students can study Mathematics Applications B. Some students intend studying Mathematical Applications at Stage 2. 
This course is a semester 1 course. It consist of two topics. Topic 1: Investment and Loans and Topic 2: Matrices. Each topic consist of two summative tests and an investigation.
This unit leads into Maths Studies or Maths Methods in Year 12. It covers the topics of Geometry and Measurement, Matrices and Introductory Calculus.
This course is a semester 2 course. It consist of two topics. Topic 1: Share Investments and Topic 2: Statisitics. Each topic consist of two summative tests and an investigation.
This is a project granted by the Multicultural Education Committee (MEC) to promote and support cultural diversity at Adelaide High
The main aims of the course are to provide students with opportunities to develop knowledge, understandings and abilities in the diverse range of skills (ie photography, team work, journalism, editorial work, graphic design, administration etc) involved in the process of publication, with specific application to the Adelaide High School yearbook.
The Research Project is a compulsory subject of the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). From 2011, students must complete the 10-credit Research Project for Stage 2 of the SACE, with a C grade or better.
