In a snap shot:

As leaders, there may be times when you’re required to deal with traumatic events or critical incidents that occur related to your work. This could involve a significant workplace incident or it could be a serious accident involving students or their families. Psychological First Aid Training for Leaders equips you with practical tools to navigate complex and traumatic situations, ensuring you have the confidence to help your staff and broader community, as well as building your own resilience.

Aim:

As a world class education system, we see wellbeing of our workers and leaders as integral to the wellbeing of sites, and the impact on student outcomes. As a commitment toward becoming a Mentally Healthy Workplace, we aim to build work environments that support mental health, prevent harm and manage risk, raise awareness and intervene early for recovery. (Ref: OCPSE “Mentally Healthy Workplace framework, 2019).

Beyond Mental Health in the work place, this course is specifically addressing managing and responding to traumatic events and critical incidents for the Education Dept workforce.
