New resources for responding to children and young people’s sexual behaviour, and the prevention of sexual harm, are now available.
They include a separate procedure and guideline, making it clear what schools must do.
The procedure is mandatory in all government schools. It outlines the requirements for responding to sexual behaviour incidents, including reporting to the Child Abuse Report Line and police.
For more information, visit the sexual behaviour page on the Department for Education website.
There is also information for parents and carers and for students.
