South Australian schools will share in $14.2million as part of the Australian government’s one-off student wellbeing boost funding. Schools can spend the funding on activities that support student mental health and wellbeing.

The Australian Government has set the following guidance for how funds can be used:

  • hosting school camps, excursions, sporting or other social activities that improve students’ wellbeing;
  • or other proven student engagement and mental health initiatives.

Funding for each school will be allocated by 30 June 2023 and schools can spend the funding when it reaches their RES.

Important dates:

  • funding for each government school will be allocated by 30 June 2023 through the RES
  • each school will need to use or have committed their funding to a program or service by 31 March 2024
  • funding needs to be spent in full by 30 June 2024
  • reporting on activities undertaken with funds by May 2024.
