The Australian Government is supporting the rollout of the Smiling mind school program into 45 regional and rural South Australian government and non-government primary schools.
In term 1 and 2 this year 22 South Australian schools began their Smiling Mind school program journey. Feedback from these schools has been very positive.
The program provides training, resources and support to help schools implement a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing in their sites.
Delivered fully online, participating schools will have access to:
- Training for staff on mindfulness and its benefits for students and teachers.
- Practical guidance on how to implement its benefits in diverse school environments.
- Surveys and measurement tools to see the impact the program is having on students and teachers.
- Resources to support sustainable implementation of the program, including tools to support parent and carer engagement.
- Ongoing support from Smiling Mind’s psychologists and mindfulness experts.
